An enjoyable afternoon read. There is a satisfying bad-guy-gets-what's-coming-to-them storyline with enough challenge to make a question of whether the protagonist will accomplish the mission.

Vivid descriptions of the physical and mental world inhabited by our tortured, half-sane, protagonist, Joseph, who sees himself as an expression of evil in the world, make the shadowed and night-driven world clear and accessible to the reader.

With both the good and the bad guys operating outside the law, the contrast between them is complexified. When everyone is bad, can there be any goodness?
